Abstract
The intercalation of nickel and cobalt thiabendazole complexes into montmorillonite was investigated by two strategies. The first strategy consisted of exchanging sodium montmorillonite (Na+-Mt) by nickel or cobalt ions followed by complexation of these cations by thiabendazole. The second method was the direct exchange of the sodium ions by the Ni- or Co-thiabendazole complexes. The thiabendazole-montmorillonite complexes were investigated by X-ray diffraction, FTIR and TGA analysis.
